Dr. Thomas J. Michaels, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS
Dr. Michaels completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree through Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 2011. He earned his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 2000. Dr. Michaels has over seventeen years of clinical experience in various settings, including outpatient orthopedics, inpatient rehabilitation, and home care.Â In 2014 he became board certified in orthopaedic physical therapy (OCS).Â Dr. Micahael’s areas of clinical interest include manual physical therapy, sports-injury rehabilitation
, movement analysis, arthritis rehabilitation, and functional activity restoration. Dr. Michaels has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) since 2003. He is also an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Dr. Michaels is the clinic director of the Barnegat BSR Physical Therapy
Dr. Amy B. McMahon, PT, DPT, OCS
Dr. McMahon completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree through Rocky Mountain University in Provo, UT in 2011. She received her Masterâ€™s degree in physical therapy from the University of Hartford in 2005. Dr. MacMahon became board certified in orthopaedic physical therapy (OCS) in 2013. Dr. McMahon has over twelve years of clinical experience managing patients with orthopaedic, sports-related
and neurological disorders, including patients recovering from stroke and those with balance difficulties. She has advanced training in manual physical therapy, elbow & shoulder rehabilitation, and balance disorders. Dr. McMahon serves as a clinical instructor for doctoral student physical therapists and mentors physical therapy residents specializing in the area of orthopaedics. She has been an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since 2003. Dr. McMahon is the clinic director of the Manahawkin BSR Physical Therapy
Dr. Mark Daitol, PT, DPT, CSCS
Dr. Daitol received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2012 and his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Stockton University in 2016. He is a USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach as well as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, which is considered the gold standard for training athletes. Mark has a clinical interest in working with athletes of all ages and sports, especially baseball, Olympic weightlifting, and the tactical athlete. He is currently enrolled in the Sports Physical Therapy Residency program through Evidence in Motion (EIM). Mark joined BSR Physical Therapy in 2018 and manages patients in the Barnegat BSR Physical Therapy
Dr. Justin Gardner, PT, DPT, OCS
Dr. Gardner received his doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) in 2017 from Arcadia University. Following this he performed a post-doctoral orthopedic residency in 2018 and then in 2019 became a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist. This allowed him to develop further knowledge in research and best practices of orthopedic based physical therapy. His clinical interests include manual physical therapy, treatment of athletes, and movement analysis. Dr. Gardner joined the practice in 2019 and he manages patients at the Mantahawkin BSR Physical Therapy
Dr. Gerianne Scarpitto, PT, DPT
Dr. Scarpitto received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2017 and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2019 from Sacred Heart University. She has experience working with medically complex patients, and patients with various orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary conditions. She has managed patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, neurological conditions, post-operative conditions, and balance dysfunctions. Dr. Scarpitto is continuing her training by enrolling in an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency program in 2020. She joined the practice in 2019 and currently manages patients at the Barnegat BSR Physical Therapy clinic.
Dr. Britney Connors, PT, DPT
Dr. Connors completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree through Rutgers University in May 2019. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2016. Dr. Connorsâ€™ areas of interest include integrating physical therapy and overall wellness, nutrition, manual physical therapy, as well as sports and orthopedic rehabilitation. Dr. Connors is enrolling in the orthopedic residency program through Evidence in Motion (EIM) in 2020 to develop further knowledge and expertise in orthopedic physical therapy. She joined the practice in 2019 and currently manages patients at the Manahawkin BSR Physical Therapy clinic.
